Once more this unwanted project is mired in controversy. So much for a bright new future. No single party seems to have a clue about what is going on and the 'consensus' among the educationalists, the councillors, the DCSF and the civil servants is breaking down across the pages of the local paper.
As astonishing as it is the paper is actually breaking away from it's position as "official" Academy newsletter and has printed some "evidence" that some peeps on or in the County Council haven't been as open and above board as they should have been.
Who'd have thought it?
We see Gordon Brown making a promise, he's very good at that as he does
it all the time but he doesn't keep many, making a promise to give
parents a vote on whether a struggling school should be run by a
different organisation.
From the Evening Mail comments board.
Can this be happening in Barrovian schools?
In an earlier post I was taken to task by a commenter because I gave a personal opinion that a lot of what goes on in schools is government indoctrination into doing things the right government prescribed way.
Well they are at it again...
But could this be happening here in Barrow?
Perhaps they are not as independent or as effective as they should be...
To me and this is just my personal opinion, the kids of Great Britain are not considered to be kids by the Government, a tiny minority of British people elected into power.
People have been asking how to get in touch with Ofsted regarding various incidents at Furness Academy. As ever there is a correct procedure to follow.
So here is how you do it.
Is written in a foreign language, legalese, and is deliberately vague, they all are so this fact is not unique to Furness Academy Limited and doesn't actually mention any sort of financial detail at all. Odd don't you think for a "Funding Agreement"?
Whatever aspect of education this Labour government touches it breaks. There has been no end of cash, experts, consultants, quango's, fake charities, elected politicians, civil servants, retired educationalists, faith groups, evangelicals and businesses meddling in the education of children.
and yet...
But this site has!
FURNESS Academy's principal says building a one-site school will have
less impact on students during the building stage and better facilities
in the long run.
Comes this story which very succinctly shows what is happening in our state schools even though the post features an American college...
This is a perfect example of what is wrong with Britain's education system, in my humble opinion.
The amount of information out there is staggering. Hot on the heels from finding out about the impending retirement of Mr David Kelly Principal of Barrow Sixth Form College and the Walney Oftsed report I came across this...
What I think has actually happened is this and if anyone knows any different then please feel free to enlighten me.
Thanks to commenter Eric I took a tootle over to TES jobs and lo and behold I found...
why the Furness Academy Limited website run by MC2 Limited is still down and has been for some considerable time?
Here's a reminder of how MC2 see themselves and how Mrs Attwood, co-sponsor of the Academy and Director of Furness Academy Limited the company which engaged and pays MC2 Limited, loves the "work" they produce.
Came across a fascinating fact today... well it was fascinating to me.
It came from a written reply from our old friend Vernon of the Coaker family.
Turns out that the minimum amount of money a child attracts from the taxpayer pot is...
(of course there are all manner of allowances that can pump this figure up)
I've just had a wander through the Evening Mails Academy split/single site pages and I see they are up to their old tricks of having the same Academy comment section appear under every pro Academy article.
This proves beyond any doubt the paper and its editor are in cahoots with the Academy Company and its sponsor directors. It is even adopting Academy purple as its colour of choice to use throughout its dead tree publication. Purple it seems is the colour. They even managed to get it onto a huge photograph of John Woodcock pretending be a BAE worker!
Will Mr Lee make a public statement about his papers support for the Academy Company no matter how bad things get?
PS
The Academy Company's site is still down.
It now looks like the wheels are coming off all across the Labour Governments education system, if this BBC story is to be trusted.
I am not convinced that the BBC is an impartial news service these days but if it has been cleared to report on this there has to be some truth in it.
The Evening Mail has brought in a man who is a head teacher of a Lancashire based twin site school to give his opinion. Obviously its editor is doing his bit to push the Academy Company agenda at every possible opportunity.
This time however he has rather shot himself in the foot as this article exposes a key problem with Furness Academy Limited as it proves that neither Douglas Blackledge, Anne Attwood or indeed Moira Swann will listen to or entertain the opinion of anyone who doesn't agree with their narrow minded view of things.
How typical of the towns only newspaper to ignore the real story and try and invent a 'clash of the titans' instead.
