At long last the Academy website has got round to acknowledging it now has two head girls and two head boys. It has only taken six days for the company's PR company MC2 to achieve this feat.
Even this site managed to get the news online the same day it was released to the Evening Mail!

But what really takes the biscuit is that the lazy company puts as little effort as possible into the page.
Further down you will be able to read their words but right at the very end they link through the the Evening Mail coverage!
Astonishing. What they are actually doing is making the Evening Mail their official spokesman, woman, person or whatever.
Since when were the Evening Mail hired by the Academy company and once again WHY are MC2 still being employed by Furness Academy Limited.
You have to wonder why this page hasn't been updated at the same time?

Furness Academy has named its first Head Boys and Head Girls. North site will see Rogan Devlin and Catherine Higgins take up the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl, whilst Alex Danson and Nyomi Woodend take up the same positions of responsibility on South site.
These senior prefects form a vital link between the students and the staff and community and will have a number of responsibilities including leading the Academy's student council and representing the students at key academy events.
Douglas Blackledge, Principal at Furness Academy commented: "Congratulations to the four students who have been chosen as our senior prefects. Their role, as student champions and key representatives within the community, is an important one that helps to shape the identity and personality of the Academy."
The chosen students went through a rigorous selection process, culminating in an interview with the Executive Leadership Team of Mr Blackledge, Mr Gill and Mr Wilson.
Mr Blackledge continued: "The selection process was purposefully tough as these students now hold a very privileged position but each of them rose to the challenge and performed brilliantly."
"I look forward to seeing the positive contributions that Rogan, Catherine, Alex and Nyomi make to the Academy over the coming year."

HEADS UP, FURNESS ACADEMY CHOOSES STUDENT AMBASSADORS

Why do the job yourself when you can pay others to do it. Doug employs this adage himself by employina a part time head and two vps that act as heads. Makes sense for the policy to apply to the website also.
2Student Ambassadors". The ultimate political correctness!
Has everyone seen the latest little nutmeg of a leaflet from John Gough titled...
"John Gough's report on the change we need in Barrow & Furness"
Here it is copied by my own fair hand.
Better schools for all
We will ensure head teachers have the right to exclude disruptive pupils.
Any school which has been in special measures for a year or more will immediately be taken over by a successful Academy provider and reopened as a new school with new school leadership.
We will remove the obstacles which prevent new schools being established and help to end the unfairness of parents who aren't able to get their child to a good school of their choice.
We'll ensure more teaching by ability to stretch the strongest and nurture the weakest.
I don't know where to start!
Obviously they support Dougies regime of exclusions, but to say at the end 'nurture the weakest' is hypocritical by anyone's standards. How can you nuture children if they are excluded, as those liable to be excluded are by and large 'the weakest'.
Where are they going to find a successful Academy provider, the very few there are will have their work cut out.
What are they going to do about removing unfairness...we all want to get into Dowdales etc now, how can they stop the unfairness!!! Dowdales would have to double in size, is that what they mean? It is unbelievable.
How is John Goughs darling Furness Academy stretching the strongest when it is clumping kids who are excellent at Maths, in a lower set because they are poor at English or vice versa.
O my God and I thought I had heard it all from Labour.
Had heard the poor staff turn out at pa was due to seven being on the sick and 3 making a stand against having to work 24/7 for intense monitoring that serves no purpose.
