Rather belatedly Stagecoach the towns sole public bus service provider has realised that the Furness Academy school day finishes quite a bit before every other secondary schools school day so it's double deckers can do double duty on school days.
Perhaps Mr McPhail has been out of town for the past two months but apparently he has only just realised that this is the case and has now taken action to provide cheap bus rides for Academy kids.
Anyway to find the timetable on the Furness Academy Limited website as designed and maintained by MC2 Limited is not easy as it's tucked away inside a sections sub section with no direct link from their homepage (quick lesson for MC2 here completely free of charge) I've copied it into this page as it is of vital interest for those parents whose kids get to the Academy soaking wet if it's raining and they are having to walk.

Thanks for this. I didn't know they existed until I read this post. You should become the communications officer for the Academy because they don't seem to have one!
Thanks.
These leaflets were handed out to all pupils in registration before the half term holidays. If you haven't got one maybe you need to check what happened to the one your child was given to bring home.
My kids did not receive any timetables.
As mine don't need them, perhaps timetable dishing out was selective, as in, do you need a bus timetable?
If I find out different on a deep clean bag inspection, I will get back.
My children didn't get bus timetables either, dishing out could be selective,a bit like the laptops with paid for access to the internet that have been handed out to some.I'd be interested to know how children are selected for that - perhaps Academy teacher could enlighten us.
The bus timetable issue, highlights the varying degrees of organisation between the schools. I do not wish to criticise anyone in particular as I believe the problems arising are a direct result of rushing the Academy through. I am sure that after a year has gone by many of the problems we are encountering will have been ironed out as varying staff will know their responsibilities and hopefully there will be a degree of organisation and co-ordination by then. Too late for year 11 however.
My main worries are the registration system and the lack of warning and paperwork for GCSE exams (previously we were given official documents six weeks before, we have none so far, only a timetable for mock exams which includes a GCSE. We also used to receive a copy of the rules and regulations and where the exams were being held.)
It remains to be seen if we get our text and email reminders.
Is this also the case at South Site?
I am also concerned about the cock up with the fibre optics which has again put the computer system down at North site. Not particularly anyone’s fault, but some vital work may have been lost. We wait with baited breath for that and whether the children and staff can actually get on line next week. I have other areas of concern but hope they too will sort themselves out, lack of communication being one of them.
It is not all doom and gloom, I can see some positives so far. I am so pleased the staff seem to be keeping a lid on any problems that may have arisen between the joining schools. Lessons are also generally business as usual, a big thank you for that also.
I should have mentioned the GCSE in question is in less than two weeks. The mocks start next week.
