As we head towards the end of the first half term, this week is a
natural point on which to reflect on the progress we have made at
Furness Academy since we first opened our doors on the 7th of September
2009.
Already I believe that the Academy is developing a positive ethos and identity, which bodes very well for our future.
Next
term we can look forward to establishing the house names and to
finalising the uniform with the addition of a voluntary jumper. The
Student Council has been asked to design an item in keeping with the
style of the rest of the uniform and I am looking forward to seeing
their ideas. This will provide further opportunity for the Academy's
identity and personality to be established and celebrated.
I
would like to commend the staff, students and their families for all
their efforts over the last few weeks. Their support has ensured that
Furness Academy is quickly becoming something Barrow can take pride in.
I hope everyone has a restful break and comes back feeling refreshed and with even more enthusiasm for the next half of term.
Mr Blackledge
