Is now suspended in what the sponsors call ' neutral act without prejudice' but really means ' we have received some serious allegations and are suspending the individual whilst they are investigated to see if there is any substance to them"

Why they can't just say this is beyond me but moving on.

The principal of West Cumbria's first academy school has been appointed. Barrie Cooper will become the principal and chief executive of West Lakes Academy when it opens in September.

Barrie has a career in education spanning 30 years.
In 1997, he was appointed principal of Devon's Chulmleigh Community College, which gained business enterprise status - and business is one of the specialist areas the West Lakes Academy will focus on.
Four years ago Mr Cooper became head of Nether Stowe High School in Lichfield, which opened an autistic unit last January.

Mr Cooper will work two days a week in Cumbria until September to help prepare for its opening.
He was chosen following an extensive interview process, which saw shortlisted candidates scrutinised by panels of experts and pupils.

West Lakes Academy, which is enrolling 1,150 pupils, will operate from existing Wyndham School buildings.
It will specialise in science and business enterprise.

A new £25m purpose-built academy complex will be constructed on the Egremont site and is expected to be operational by 2011.

So he underwent and extensive interview process by a 'panel of experts' and the pupils and then this happened!

Forty teachers at West Cumbria's new academy school have given evidence against its head and a second senior staff member as a probe into allegations of bullying and harassment continues.

All staff at the West Lakes Academy in Egremont are also being offered independent and confidential counselling to help them cope with stress.

The governing body says the offer is not related to the investigation that has been sparked by a formal grievance lodged by three leading teaching unions on behalf of the "vast majority" of their member

The West Lakes Governing body of course includes the sponsors who employed this man in the first place.

The man leading the investigation is none other than Roger Alston who up till July 2008 was an 'expert' working on the Furness Academy scheme. What does all this mean?
I haven't the foggiest. If anyone does please e-mail me.
